Just watched a show on Netflix called Brain Games, it’s American but don’t let that put you off. It’s quite good at showing the many complexities of the human brain in an easy to understand way. Don’t fall into that trap when it comes to picking your website designer.

It is important to check out the designer’s pedigree rather than be guided by the price.

In my 15 years of building websites I have seen other website designers come and go (often after only being in business for less than 24 months), I have seen designers charge £1500 for a design using a bought $60 template and at the other end of the scale I have seen designers charge £250 for essentially a re-coloured version of a single design. The price for a website does NOT necessarily reflect the quality of the site. If a website is complex and has a lot of features it will cost more.

My own price range for website builds varies from £400 to £2000 + depending upon requirements but the majority of the sites I build range from £600 to £1000.
